Obituary for Larry "Big Daddy" Byer
Larry H. “Big Daddy” Byer, age 81 of Knox, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Larry was born in that same home on July 1, 1944 to Henry and Lavina (Coonfare) Byer, both deceased. He loved music and he loved playing music for people as “DJ Big Daddy”, he also loved hot rod cars, John Deere Lawn Tractors and trains. He is survived by his long-time companion, Kay Schuette of Knox, his children, Michael Byer (Tommie) of Knox, Cammi Martinez of Plymouth, Brett Byer (Lisa) of Knox and Tawnya Kasten (Lonnie Boley) of Grovertown, 22 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Byer and a sister, Gloria Allen. A celebration of life will take place Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the Knox Community Center. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
