Obituary for Junice Edgar Crittendon
Junice Edgar Crittendon, age 79, of Knox, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020 at his home. He was born March 23, 1941 in Haddix, Kentucky to George and Mary (Hays) Crittendon. He served in the U.S. Army for two years before moving to Knox, where he met and married the love of his life, Carol Spears-Howard on May 29, 1965. Together Junice and Carol built there life in Knox and had four children, Kelley Crittendon, Shannon K. Ray (Paul), Jeremy Crittendon, and Brandon Crittendon (Ashley), all of Knox, and five grandchildren, Jeremy Crittendon II, Caleb, Keegan and Kendall Rudd, and Rylee Crittendon, all of Knox. He is also survived by a brother, Mantford “Matt” Crittendon (Gaye) of Knox, and a sister, Scottie Sands of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lucy Adams, Beulah Crittendon, Vesta Turner and Joyce Crittendon Fichette, and brothers, George, Ray Douglas “Doug”, and Elmer Crittendon.
Junice loved to fish, golf, play cards and watch basketball, especially his Kentucky Wildcats. He was a retired carpenter having worked many years out of Union Local 413. A celebration of life service will take place at a later date. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
