Joseph B. Smrt, Age 98, of Knox, Passed away Tuesday September 23, 2014. Joseph was born February 14, 1916 in North Judson, IN to Edward and Julia (Rozhon) Smrt. Both preceded him. Joseph is a World War 2 veteran. He worked as the Starke County Surveyor. He married Ursula Kelly June 23, 1951 she survives. Also surviving are their 4 children Terry Smrt of Knox, Kevin Smrt of Knox, Christopher (Jennifer) Smrt of Louisville, KY, Madonna (Bruce) Johnson of Austin, TX, and 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Joseph was preceded by his brother and sisters. Visitation will be Friday, September 26, 2014 from 4-7pm at the M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will take place September 27, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery.
