Obituary for John William Wilson
John William Wilson, age 89, of Knox, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. John was born June 15, 1932 in Ruleville, Mississippi. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he received a Bronze Star. He is remembered as a good mechanic and a very handy man who could fix anything. He also enjoyed collecting coins. He had been a long-time member of the Bible Baptist Church in Knox. On October 11, 1952 he married Mary F. Rock, she preceded him in death on November 15, 2012. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Evelyn DePoy (Phillip) of Culver, Indiana and Carol S. Weber of Redlands, California, a sister, Lucille McClenic of Mississippi, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Bryan Wilson and Rosa Lee Willingham Wilson, three brothers and two sisters. A funeral service will take place on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 1:00pm (CT), with visitation two hours prior to the services at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.
