Obituary for John Pembroke
John E. Pembroke, age 81, of Knox, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013. John was born January 23, 1932 in Champaign, Illinois to John and Grace (Gunning) Pembroke, both deceased. He was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. On October 16, 1954 he married Carol Soenksen, she survives. Also surviving are his children, Paul Pembroke (Gillian), Wesley Pembroke (Daphne) and Linda Pembroke (Mark Crandon), all of Australia, a sister, Grace Greenwald of Woodstock, IL , 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild. A memorial service will take place Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2pm, with visiting one hour prior to services at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Miller's Merry Manor, 730 School St., Culver, IN 46511.
