Obituary for John Jacobs
John Jacobs, aged 81, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 5, 2018. Born on October 18, 1936, John, along with his siblings, Esther, Bill and Nancy, were adopted by loving families in Knox who kept all children close together. Esther, John and Bill were adopted by Hattie and Ralph Brockett; Nancy was adopted by the Hall family. John later served in the U.S. Air Force and on one day in 1955, while in San Francisco, met Gladys Villados whom he would marry later that year. The Air Force relocated the couple to various places and they would eventually settle in San Francisco. After the Air Force, John worked at the Presidio Army Base and stayed in the Bay Area until he eventually moved back to Knox.
John is survived by his wife Gladys, his children, Corinne Lee, Crystal and Michalyn; son-in-law Edric; nephew Michael and his wife Amy, their children Brenda, Benjamin, Adam, Mitchell, Shelby and 10 great-grand nephews and nieces; granddaughter Tisha, her husband Edward and their children Kyle and Dylan; grandson Sanden and his wife Kristyn; his siblings Esther (now deceased), Bill and Nancy. John's greatest pleasures were his family, serving the Lord, attending church under friend and Pastor Jack Hudgens, good ol’ country music, the great state of Indiana, football and baseball. Please join us for a celebration of his life at the M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Knox, IN on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, a funeral service will take place at 11am (CT), with visitation one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Round Lake Cemetery.
