Obituary for Jerome "Jerry" Stuber
Jerome B. “Jerry” Stuber, age 95, of Knox, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2019. Jerry was born March 21, 1924 in Chicago, to Benjamin and Anna Murphy Stuber, both deceased. He was a Veteran having served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He worked for 36 years as an engineer for Illinois Bell Telephone Company, he enjoyed reading and learning about history, and he was an expert at crossword puzzles. He completed many home renovation and improvement projects. He was accomplished at waterskiing, and successfully taught many others. He loved spending time manicuring his showcase lawn and landscaping. He generously shared his time to help others with home improvements and lawn mowing. On May 17, 1947, in Chicago, he married Eugenia M. “Jean” Geibel Stuber, she survives. Also surviving are his children, Peter Stuber (the late Margaret), Paul Stuber (Bonnie), and Eva Selep (John), grandchildren, Paula Gavin (Joel), Leann Ledet (Andrew), Michael, Steven and Jean Selep, great grandchildren, Christina and Ryan Smith. He was preceded in death by a grandson, William Stuber. A memorial service will take place Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00am (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the National Kidney Foundation.
