Obituary for James T. Krause
James T. Krause, age 63, of Knox, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025. He was born July 24, 1961 in Oak Forest, Illinois to Bernard J. Krause and Patina Stavron Krause, both deceased. He’s also preceded in death by two brothers Robert (MaryAnn) Krause and Donny Krause. James loved coaching One on One Wrestling, hunting, and wood carving. He also loved animals and spent a lot of time rescuing and rehabilitating puppies. On April 26, 1986 he married Paula Obrecht, she survives. Also surviving are his children, Nicole Byrd (Josh) of Knox, James Krause of Indianapolis, Jacob Krause (Ally) of Knox, and Gunnar Krause (Peyton) of Knox, a grandchild, Cooper, and another grandchild on the way, his brothers and sisters, Bernie Krause (Joyce) of Oak Forest, Illinois, Glora Horn of Georgia, Mary Szabo of Virginia, Joey Krause (Pat) of Tinley Park, Illinois, Patti Cusack (Marty) of Oak Forest, Illinois, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and his fur-babies, Lambeau, Nelson, Charlie, Daisy, Hank, Elvis, Bella and Opal.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 6pm (CT), with visitation starting at 2pm (CT) at M.C. Smtih Funeral Home in Knox. There will also be a celebration of life held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the Krause Residence.
