Obituary for James Russell "Jim" Hindle
James Russell “Jim” Hindle, age 86, of Knox, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Golden Living Center in Knox. Jim was born October 2, 1932 in Carlinville, Illinois to John R. Hindle and Ann C. Erthal Hindle, both deceased. He graduated from Knox High School in 1950. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War from 1950-52. He was a Life Member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 131 in Knox. He had worked in factories and as a bartender until his retirement. On January 26, 1960 he married Carol Rose, she preceded him in death on November 14, 2017. He is survived by his children, Julie Origer (John) of North Judson, Mike Hindle (Starr) of Goshen and John Hindle of LaPorte, 4 grandchildren, Nathan Origer (Sarah), Jared Origer, Jonathan Hindle (Ashley) and Elizabeth Hindle, and one great grandson, Jaxon Hindle. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Hindle. Funeral services will be Friday, November 30, 2018 at 1pm (CT), with visitation two hours prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Interment will be private.
