Obituary for James Clark Oliverius
James Clark Oliverius, age 65, of Knox, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Jim was born on April 8, 1948 in Fort Wayne, IN to James and Marguerite (Clark) Oliverius, both deceased. A 1966 graduate of Knox High School, Jim was a lifelong fan of the Redskins. He was a proud Veteran of the Viet Nam War having served in the United States Air Force. Directing the Community Christmas Cantata for many years brought him great joy. He was also a member of the Knox United Methodist Church, the Maxinkuckee Singers, and the Knox Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, his yellow '58 Thunderbird, western and history movies, the Chicago Bears and music. On February 27, 1971 he married Sarah "Sally" White, she survives. Also surviving are their children, Jill Collins (Adam) of Winamac, Jody Joseph (Jacob) of Knox, J.D. Oliverius (Julie) of Beatrice, Nebraska, a sister, Sharon Oliverius of Knox, grandchildren, Kindrick and Joshua Joseph, Molly and Maggie Rogers all of Knox, and Kyle, Claire and Kate Collins all of Winamac. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 2:00pm (CST) with visitation two hours prior to services, at the Knox United Methodist Church. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be given to: LaPorte Hospital Foundation Cancer Fund or the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
