Obituary for Jacqueline Manis
Jacqueline "Jackie"(Hudkins) Manis, 87, passed away Thursday June 1, 2017 at her home in Franklin.

Jackie was born May 14, 1930 in Rochester, Indiana to Waldron and Charlene (Raymer) Hudkins.

She was a teacher and librarian for North Lawrence Community Schools in Bedford for 20 years, retiring in 1991.

Jackie loved to read and enjoyed politics.

She was a member of the Indiana Teacher's Association and Tri Kappa Sorority.

She was very active at Grace United Methodist Church for 25 years and a member of the United Methodist Women.

Jackie is survived by three children, Michael (Therese) Manis of Newland, North Carolina, Patrick (Dawn) Manis and Kathleen (Joe) Erickson both of Franklin, a brother, James Hudkins Sr. of Michigan City, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray Manis and a brother, Edward Hudkins Sr.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday June 6, 2017 at MC Smith Funeral Home, 153 E. Washington St., Knox, IN 46534 with visitation from noon until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Knox, Indiana.
