Obituary for Illa M. Brockett
Illa M. Brockett, age 89, of Knox, passed away Sunday, August 05, 2018 at Southfield Village Nursing Home in South Bend. She was born July 16, 1929 in South Bend, Indiana to Claude and Helen (Kinch) Rodgers, both deceased. She was a member of the Knox Full Gospel Assembly Church. On June 26, 1953, in Ringgold, Georgia she married Ralph Brockett, Jr., he preceded her in death on October 1, 1997. She is survived by her children, Neil Brockett (Laura) of Valparaiso, IN, Kenny Brockett (Sylvia) of Borger, TX, Mark Brockett (Barbara) of Dubuque, IA, Judy Brockett of LaPorte, IN and Cheryl Beehler (Louie) of Mishawaka, IN, a brother, Allen Rodgers of South Bend, IN, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dale Brockett and a brother, Van Rodgers. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00am (CT), with visitation one hour prior to services at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Burial will follow in Round Lake Cemetery in Knox. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Center for Hospice Care. www.cfhcare.org
