Obituary for Gladys Centers
Gladys Centers, age 90 of Knox, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at her home. Gladys was born July 5, 1928 in Bulan, Kentucky to Glen Martin and Nancy Mullins Martin, both deceased. On June 23, 1945, in Bulan, Kentucky, she married James A. Centers. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1997. She is survived by her children, Charlotte Clemons of Knox, Sheila Renae Earnest of Knox, Ed Centers of Knox and Danny Centers of Dayton, KY, a sister, Mary Sue Carpenter of Stanton, KY, 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Davidson and Joyce Centers, and five sisters, Beulah Campbell, Mildred Shively, Ella Jane Davis, Delila Attis and Liza Philpot. Visitation will take place Monday, October 1, 2018 from 5-8pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 11am (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.
