Gerald “Jerry” Ray Lockwood, age 88, of Elkhart, passed away December 6, 2022, surrounded by family. He was born in Hillsdale County, Michigan on November 3, 1934, to parents Harold Lockwood and Florence “Kane” Lockwood, both deceased. Jerry was a man of many talents. From serving for his country in the Army, to working on the railroad for 40 years, to being an active member of the Elks lodge and Knights of Columbus, to being the supervisor of maintenance at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Elkhart and maintenance at Brentwood assisted living in Elkhart. Jerry wore many hats throughout his life, but most importantly, what meant the most to him was his family. The ones that meant the most called him, father, husband, and Papa, he will be missed. On December 11, 1954, Jerry married Judith (Bruce) Lockwood, she survives. Also surviving are his sisters Loreta Berkshire, Linda Jedele and Cindy Mohr, grandchildren Angela, Amanda, Robert, and Gerald, one son-in-law Mark Marshall, and six great grandchildren. He’s preceded in death by his parents, children Marcia Lockwood, Pamela Lockwood Marshall and Sandra Lockwood, and siblings Joyce and Richard Losey.
A viewing will be held on December 12, 2022, from 10:00-1:00pm (ET) at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Elkhart, IN, with funeral services immediately following at 1:00pm (ET). Burial will follow at St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery in Elkhart, IN.
