Obituary for George E. Fogarty
George E. Fogarty, age 96, of Knox, IN, passed away at home on February 29, 2024. On October 13, 1927, in Hammond, IN, he was born to parents Arthur Fogarty & Mary (Helms) Fogarty. George loved his grandchildren and cherished the memories. He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur & Mary Fogarty, wife Mary Ann Fogarty and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are his kids Ann DeLong (Joseph), George V. Fogarty, Barbara A. Fogarty, Patricia L. VanVolkenburg (Daniel), all of Knox, and Kathleen Thomas of Wyoming, eight grandchildren and one sister Mary Alice.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 4-8pm (CST), with a Rosary Service at 7:30pm, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 10am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Hamlet, IN. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Schererville.
