Obituary for Floyd E. Brown
Floyd E. Brown, age 90, of Knox, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at his home in BOA Shores at Bass Lake. Floyd was born July 13, 1925 in Hamilton, Ohio to Edward and Effie Powell Brown, who are both deceased. He was a Veteran of WWII having served in the Army Air Corps. He spent his career working as a lineman and trouble-shooter for the Commonwealth Edison Electric Company in Illinois. He was a member of the Bass Lake Lions Club, the Knox American Legion and Past Commander and an active member of the Honor Guard at the Knox VFW. On September 23, 1945 in Blue Island, Illinois, he married Mary Zolfo, she survives. Also surviving are his children, Pamela Stolarek (Dennis) of Knox, Debbie Egan (Bill) of Knox, and Kevan Brown of Fort Wayne, Indiana, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral services will take place Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 1:00pm (CT), with visitation two hours prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois at a later date.
