Obituary for Eugene "Gene" Dunfee, Sr.

Eugene “Gene” Dunfee, Sr., age 83, of Rochester, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017. Gene was born February 7, 1934 in Hammond, Indiana to Garfield Dunfee and Edna Cook Dunfee, both deceased. He had worked for many years as the Warehouse Manager at Shaw’s Fertilizer in Knox. On September 2, 1955, in Lowell, Indiana, he married Barbara Greer, she preceded him in death on December 6, 2002. He is survived by his children, Kathryn Bennett (Brad) of Pittsfield, IL, Jane Bonnell (Kent) of Kewanna, IN, Gene Dunfee, Jr. of Knox, Glenn Dunfee (Sandy) of Rochester, IN, Joe Dunfee (Myra) of Rochester, IN, and Jeff Dunfee (Sonya) of Greensburg, IN, 20 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and his best friends, Koli and Wilson. Funeral services will take place Friday, December 29, 2017 at 12 noon (EST), with visitation one hour prior to services, at Mt. Hope Church, 7022 W. 700 N., Culver, IN. Burial will take place at the Moon Cemetery in Leiters Ford, IN. M. C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox is in charge of arrangements.
