Eric B. Richardson, age 47, of Knox, passed away surrounded by the love of his family Sunday, July 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for those closest to him. Born in Hammond Indiana October 18, 1978, Eric made his home in Knox, Indiana where he lived for the past 25 years. He was a hard working man who could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand. If someone needed help, Eric never hesitated. He was the kind of person who would truly give you the shirt off his back.
Eric found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved gardening, grilling a great steak, experimenting with new recipes (always recruiting family and friends to be his taste testers), and spending time building and launching his famous potato guns. His greatest happiness, however, came from caring for the people he loved.
He is survived by his sons, Brandon Richardson and Noah Richardson, his beloved mother, Nancy Richardson, his sisters, Melody Mullins (Rick), Melinda Stanley (Linda), Michelle Davenport (Rich), and Amber Davis (Travis), his brothers, Jerry Richardson Jr. (Katherine) and Darrell Richardson (Kristina).
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Richardson Sr.
He also leaves behind countless nieces and nephews who were truly his entire world, along with many extended family members and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.
Eric will be remembered for his generous heart, his protective nature, his willingness to help anyone in need, and the unconditional love he gave to his family. His memory will live on in the stories shared around family gatherings, the lessons he taught through his actions, and the love he leaves behind.
His pallbearers will be his sons, Brandon and Noah Richardson, his nephews, Jason Mullins Jr., Devon Mullins, Cooper Mullins, Robby Stanley, Jacob Showalter, Kobe Davenport and his lifelong friend, Scott Moore.
Eric will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 from 4-7pm (CT) at Calvary Baptist Church 1515 State Road 10, Knox. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 12 noon (CT), with visitation one hour prior to services, at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Round Lake Cemetery in Knox.
