Obituary for Emily I. Krivak
Mrs. Emily Irene Merkert Krivak, age 86, of Knox, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014. She was born on November 27, 1927. She was the daughter of Ed and Agnes Merkert. She married Joseph John Krivak on August 16, 1947, who she met in third grade at the Ober School, he survives. They had one daughter, Kimberly Jo Krivak Rehlander (Raymond) of LaPorte, and two grandchildren, Rachel Jo Rehlander Macias (Kevin) of New Carlisle and Maxwell Raymond Rehlander of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by a half sister, Marie Jensen. She had worked at United Telephone Company and Starke Memorial Hospital. She was the owner of the Yellow Ribbon Gift Shop. Emily was a devoted Catholic and long time member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She loved baking and cooking. She loved her husband, daughter and grandchildren very much. Visitation will take place Thursday, October 16, 2014, from 4-7pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Funeral mass will take place Friday, October 17, 2014 at 10am (CT) at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Knox. Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Knox. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to the Indian Trial Library.
