Obituary for Edythe J. Johnson
Edythe J. Johnson, age 93, of Kokomo, formerly of Knox, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Edythe was born March 25, 1932 in Knightstown, Indiana to Ora L. Davis and Hazel (DeCourcey) Davis, both deceased. She loved attending church and singing in the choir, making arts and crafts, and watching NASCAR races, rooting for Kyle Larson. She is survived by her sons, William A. Tompkins of Middleton, Ohio, David W. Tompkins of Knox, Indiana and John L. Tompkins of Tipton, Indiana, a sister, Sandra Hotzel of New Castle, Indiana, ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony A. Tompkins, a sister, Betty Trusty and a brother, Bob Davis.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 1pm (CT), with visitation two hours prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Knox.
