Obituary for Edgar Smith
Edgar Smith, 87, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 peacefully at home. Edgar was born July 10, 1930 in Quicksand, KY to Samuel and Hester (Stacy) Smith and lived in the Knox area most of his life. He served in the Army in Korea and retired from Rockwell International. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and taking long walks.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ressie Marie Smith, one brother Homer Smith of Union Mills, IN and four children, Wanda (Ron) Suryk of Bradley, IL, Ed (Jan) Smith of Knox, Rick (Sherry) Smith of Knox, and Brenda (Jay) Wiley, of Indianapolis, IN. 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by two brothers, six sisters, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox, IN.
