Obituary for Eddie Lee Smith
Eddie Lee Smith, age 69, of Knox, Indiana went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, May 14, 2026. He was born July 8, 1956 in Knox, Indiana to Edgar and Ressie Marie Smith. On October 27, 1973 he married Janet Fisher, she survives. He is also survived by five children, Bethany Davis (James), Kristina Trusty (Dennis), Edward Smith, Jacob Smith and Grace Yeoman (Kevin), eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, and three siblings, Wanda Suryk (Ron), Brenda Wiley (Jay) and Rick Smith (Sherry). Eddie worked as a truck driver and diesel mechanic most of his life. He enjoyed a lifetime of traveling, hunting, fishing and gardening. He also loved his motorcycle rides with his friends. He was a proud member of Chapter 131 American Legion Riders in Knox, Indiana and served as the Riders Assistant Director.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Ressie Marie Smith and a great grandson, Julian Gonzalez.
Memorial contributions in Eddie’s honor can be given to the Starke County Humane Society.
