Duane R. Soppet, age 75, of Treasure Island, Florida, formerly of Knox, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Duane was born May 10, 1937 in Chicago to Charles and Carolina (Berner) Soppet, both deceased. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Kujawa) Soppet, his children, Dawn Mayerak (Sherman) of Lynwood, IL, Gary Soppet of Lansing, IL, Scott Soppet (Cheryl) of Beecher, IL, Sue Rogge (Larry) of Channahon, IL, Nancy Springer (Greg) of Maryland, and step-children, Rick Nowobielksi (Lori), Gail Freedlund (John) and Jim Nowobielski (Norma) all of Illinois, a sister, Mariann Pierson of St. John, IN and two brothers, Jean and Charles Soppet of California, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
