Obituary for Dorothy Mae Milner
Dorothy Mae Milner, age 91, of Knox, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at her home. Dorothy was born November 28, 1926 in Chicago to Albert Jaax and Hazel Nelson Jaax, both deceased. She retired after 33 years from the Knox Community Schools as Treasurer from 1964 to 1997, she had been a member of the Red Hat Society and Tri Kappa. On September 14, 1947 she married Charles M. Milner, he survives. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kimberly Ornat (Glenn) of Wakarusa, IN, Keely Anthony (Jeff) of South Bend, IN, Kori Woods (Dave) of Mishawaka, IN, Sachena Milner of Albany, OR, Rachel Oesterreich (Dave) of Knox, and Jacob Milner of Jeffersonville, IN, and 7 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Moroni and her son, Ron Milner, and three sisters, Shirley Aring, Lorraine Nelson, and Patricia Waddell. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 2-7pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 11am (CT) at M. C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Bass Lake Cemetery. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their care and support during this very difficult time.
