Obituary for Donald Jay Clabaugh
Donald Jay Clabaugh, age 78, of Knox, passed away, at his home, Friday, September 25, 2015. Jay was born June 1, 1937 in Knox, to Jesse T. Clabaugh and Dorothy A. DeMont Clabaugh-Teske, both deceased. Jay was a Veteran having served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Knox VFW and the Knox American Legion and the Knox Moose Lodge. On August 28, 1963 he married Sunday Lee Neff, she preceded him in death on December 15, 1995. He is survived by his children, Jessica Lee Clabaugh-Matkovich of Knox, Robert Lee Clabaugh of Chesterton, Indiana, and Thomas W. Clabaugh of Argos, Indiana, a sister, Nancy Dembowski of Knox, brothers, Jesse Thomas Clabaugh of South Carolina, Jon Terry Clabaugh of Crown Point, Indiana, and Daniel Mark Clabaugh of Knox, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Clabaugh. Visitation will be Friday, October 2, 2015 from 4-8pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11:00am (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Interment and military graveside services will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Relay for Life.
