Obituary for Dee Von Fletcher
Dee Von Fletcher, age 75, of Toto, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, after a short illness. Dee was born on December 8, 1948 to Walker and Zora Fletcher in Ober, Indiana. Dee started working at Ford Motor Co., then at the Coca-Cola plant in Valparaiso, then he started laying carpet. After many years of doing this, he opened Fletcher’s Carpet Warehouse, 27 years ago “Just south of Knox on Toto Road”.
In July of 1973 he met Tammy Rouhselang, they got married on August 10, 1974. Dee and Tammy had four children; Donnie, Brent, Trina and Walker. Walker preceded him in death. He had eleven siblings, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was a hard worker, he loved to play the guitar and piano. He sang in church for many years. Carpet, music and family were his love.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Zora, his father, Walker and his son, Walker Dee Fletcher, his siblings, Herbert of Yuma, AZ, Earl Vernon of Winamac, IN, Jason Carl (JC) of Florida and Dallas Fletcher of Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy of Toto, his children, Donnie of Toto, Brent (Sara) of Kansas, Trina Shepherd (Chris) of Valparaiso, grandchildren, Brooke, Ariane, Wade, Tara, Walker, Blake, Jager, Connor, Sarah, Hunter, Chasity and Myles, and great grandchildren, Marlie, Charley, Grimm, Ella Rae and Dawson.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 5-8pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 10am (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Round Lake Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to VNA Hospice NWI, 501 Marquette St., Valparaiso, Indiana 46383.
