Obituary for Deborah L. Randall
Deborah 'Debbie' Randall (nee Barney) was born to William Anthony and Dorothy Anne Barney on May 14th, 1951 and departed this earth November 18th, 2021. She was the oldest of 7 children. A graduate of Hammond High class of 1969. She met the love of her life, Al, in 1971 and married in December of 1977. In 1990 she gave birth to her best friend, her daughter Sara. Debbie always said her family was completed in 2013 when Sara got married to her husband, Greg, who Debbie called 'son' and just adored. Debbie and Al retired together to their favorite place, Bass Lake Indiana. She lived 70 unforgettable years with many friends and family who have been left with many memories to remember her by.
Debbie, known as "Debo" by most, was known for always taking care of everyone before herself. You could usually find her in the kitchen "cooking for an army". She was the queen of music trivia and loved singing and using whatever was close as a microphone. She loved playing cards, dice, doing crosswords and putting together puzzles. A die-hard Chicago Sox, Blackhawks and Bears fan. She loved spending her days at Bass Lake fishing and soaking up the sun. Her laugh was contagious and her smile would light up a room. The love she gave each person she knew was indescribable. Debo was the most devoted wife, loving mother, supportive sister, generous aunt, and loyal friend. Debo will be so missed by all that loved and knew her.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 44 years Al Randall, Daughter Sara(Greg) Saklaczynski. Sisters; Laura Walker, Elizabeth (Jim) Lauer, Barbara (Mike) Bremer, , Annie( Bob) Persicketti, Brother; Jim(Tracy) Barney. Sister in laws; Patti Barney, Jean Marie Randall( Auggie) and Peggy Quinn; many special nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, bonus family and many friends.
She will now be reunited with her parents William and Dorothy, brother William (Billy) Barney, and many other loved ones.
A celebration of life will take place Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 11am to 2pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. A luncheon will take place immediately following. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.
