Obituary for David A. Kopala
David A. Kopala, age 71, of Knox, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at his home. David was born August, 3, 1942 in Chicago to Alex and Lucille (Grillo) Kopala, both deceased. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army and was a decorated Police Officer with the Chicago Police Dept. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Green) Kopala of Knox, a daughter, Carrie Ann Feeny of Chicago and a son, Michael James Cericola of Chicago and 5 granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a son, P.J. Cericola and a brother, Patrick Kopala. Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at 1:00pm at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with visitation from 10am until time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his memory can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Judes Childrens Hospital. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
