Daniel Michael Dixon
September 30, 1955- May 23, 2023
Daniel Michael Dixon “Mickey” age 67 of Fort Wayne, Indiana formerly of Knox, passed away at home on May 23rd. Mickey was the son of Daniel Dixon and Rosemarie (Gray) Dixon and the eldest of three sons.
Mickey was a true gift, a gentle soul who knew no strangers and a teacher for those who would watch and listen. He made many friends throughout his life and enjoyed the company of housemates and staff at his Benchmark group home, Brandon Way in Fort Wayne.
He was the proud recipient of many Special Olympic medals for bowling. Anyone who knew Mickey knew that he loved to go and talk about fishing. He especially enjoyed the family trips to the North-Forty in Canada. He cherished the simple things in life like Mickey Mouse and Christmas celebrations/traditions. His joy of life was contagious and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Mickey is survived by his brother Brian (Kathy) Dixon, His Uncle Charles (Judy) DeGroot, his nephew Daniel Joseph (Olivia) Dixon and niece Tori Renee (Dustin) Epperson. Mickey was proceeded in death by his father Daniel Dixon, his mother Rosemarie Dixon, and brother Wayne Dixon.
The family will hold a private end of life celebration, time to be announced.
