Obituary for Daisy "Dottie" Uremovich
Daisy "Dottie" Uremovich, age 99, of Bass Lake, Indiana, was called home to heaven on Monday, July 13, 2015, while resting in her home on the lake. She was born November 12, 1915 in Prentiss County, Mississippi, the daughter of Raleigh D. Stubblefield and America Elizabeth Cole Stubblefield, both deceased. Dottie has lived at Bass Lake for 55 years and has spent many enjoyable hours with her pinochle friends playing cards twice a week. She loved her "Red Hat" outings, and visits from her wonderful neighbors and many friends. She was the ultimate hostess and until lately, was still providing meals and homemade breads to her many friends. While she was an avid reader, her first love was her family and very special times they shared. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, first, Charles Knell Sr., and then Emil Uremovich, Sr., and a step-son, Emil Uremovich, Jr. She is survived by her children, Charles Knell Jr. (Janet) of Clearwater, Florida and Cheryl Litts of Streamwood, Illinois, a step-daughter in law, Debbie of Chandler, Arizona. Grandchildren, Nicole Knell Baker (Greg) of Long Beach, California, Chuck Knell (Susan) of Oakton, Virginia, Deby Litts Arya (Kevin) of Roselle, Illinois, Cynthia Litts of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, Emil William Uremovich (Jennifer) of Queen Creek, Arizona, and Erik Uremovich of Mesa, Arizona, and great grandchildren, Alex and Connor Knell, Rhett and Shane Arya, Austin, Mason and Lucy Uremovich. Funeral services will be Friday, July 24, 2015 at 12 noon (CT), with visitation two hours prior to services at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice.
