Charles E. “Charlie” Britton, age 73, of Knox, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at his home. Charlie was born on January 9, 1949 in Knox, to Parris M. Britton and Ellen Grace Stewart Britton, both deceased. Charlie loved fishing, yard sales, collecting junk and watching Law and Order on TV. He also really like his “Buttermilk”. He is survived by his nine children, Caroline Britton of Columbus, IN, Diana Britton of Columbus, IN, Laurie Gibson of Plymouth, IN, Charles Britton Jr. of Liberty, TX, Christopher Britton of Warren, OH, Melissa Rodriguez of Rye, TX, Mykala Britton of Dowagiac, MI, Terry Britton of Dowagiac, Mi and Jesse Britton of Dowagiac, MI. Charlie was one of 14 children and is survived by his siblings, Lucille Britton of Nebraska, Betty Kirby of Grovertown, IN, Linda Britton of Plymouth, IN, and Sarah Loveless of Knox, IN. He was also survived by 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Britton, a sister, Florence Gropp, brothers, Henry, Robert, Louis “Butch”, David and Floyd, an infant sister and two infant brothers. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. M.C. Smith Funeral Home in handling arrangements.
