Obituary for Carol Jean Zachary
Carol Jean Zachary, age 79 of Grovertown, IN, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 2, 2023. Carol was born January 13, 1944, in Mt Carmel, IL. In 1960, she married James Howard Zachary.
In her early years in Muncie IN, Carol raced cars with her husband Jim and would brag about winning the Powder Puff race her very first-time racing. She really enjoyed bowling and won several awards & tournaments. She also loved to garden/spend time outside, watch game shows, and play cards. Most importantly, Carol was a beloved homemaker for her 4 children and 10 grandchildren. She always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
Survivors include brother Ray (Carla) Cox of Redkey IN, sister Linda Fields of Muncie IN, daughters Teresa (Tom) Jordan of Knox IN and Kim Allen of Plymouth IN, sons James Zachary of Knox IN and David Zachary of South Bend IN, grandchildren Stephanie Hoffer, Austin Jordan, RJ Tetzloff, Brittany Tetzloff, Brady Allen, Brooke Fox, Janyl Zachary, Kaitlin Saeuberlich, Brandon Zachary, and Timothy Zachary, as well as 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James Zachary and parents Kenneth Cox and Elsie (Black) Cox of Muncie IN.
