Obituary for Carol Elizabeth Smith
Carol Elizabeth Smith, age 64, of Knox, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at her home. Carol was born May 28, 1957 in Griffith, Indiana to Arthur Smith and Lois Barker Smith, both deceased. She had lived most of her adult life at Bass Lake, she was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Knox, she loved music and played the piano, she also loved gardening and would even care for the gardens and flowers of her neighbors. She was funny and like to laugh and be silly with her friends, she especially liked spending time with her pets, her dog Mya and cat, Tiger Lilly. She also liked being around children and looked forward to organizing an Easter egg hunt each year for the kids.
She is survived by her son, Shane Smith of Valparaiso, brothers and sisters, Susin Coleman (Rick) of Stafford, Texas, Janice Darling of Trevor, Wisconsin, Jon Smith (Elaine) of Waukegan, Illinois, Dan Smith (Cindy) of Waukegan, Illinois and Michael Smith of Waukegan, Illinois. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cassandra Farmen and a brother, Thomas Smith.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
