Bruce dedicated his life to public service. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving from 1959 to 1962. In June of 1966, he joined the Chicago Police Department, serving and protecting for 31 years and retiring as a Sergeant. Bruce spent the last 21 years as a US Marshall.
The son of Robert and Grace and brother of Joan and Diana, Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 55 and a half years, Kathleen (Green) Gyrion. They married June 1, 1961 in Chicago, IL, and had four children: Kevin (Karen), Mark (Kimberly), Brian, and Michelle. He had 11 grandchildren: Megan (Jim), Robert, Kyle, Adam (Callie), Aaron, Alexis, Ryan, Timmy, Tommy, Briana, and Brandon. Bruce also leaves behind five great grandchildren: Robert, Bennett, Scarlett, Benjamin, and Jameson. Bruce was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 5, 2017 10-11am at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with at funeral service at 11am.
Also there will be a visitation, Thursday, April 6, from 3-9pm at the Richard Midway Funeral Home at
5749 South Archer Ave.

Burial will take place Friday, April 7, 2017 at 10:00am Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
