Obituary for Bitha A. Bickel
Bitha A. Bickel, age 75, of Knox, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at her home. Bitha was born February 8,1945 in Jackson, Kentucky. She had done many things during her working life including working at the cafeteria at Culver Academies, as a supervisor at Freeman Products, a cook at Wintersong Village Nursing Home, and retiring from Countryside Place Nursing Home as an assistant therapist. She had achieved a high school diploma and many educational certificates. She enjoyed crocheting and making jewelry, as well as, crafting of all kinds. Bitha was well thought of by all of her family and friends, maintaining some friendships from when she was a teenager. On February 10, 1988 she married Michael Bickel, he survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Matilda Clingler (John) of Knox, brothers, Arnold Miller (Bonnie) of Kentucky, Willie Miller of Kentucky, Wallace Grigsby (Donna) of Illinois, a sister, Patricia Grigsby of Knox, a granddaughter, Krystal Clingler (Noelle), and a great granddaughter, Nova Patrick. She was preceded in death by her father, Finley Barger, her mother Matilda Barger Grigsby, her stepfather, Rebel Grigsby, two brothers, Karue Miler and Stanley Grigsby, and a sister, Mary Noble.
A funeral service will take place Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 1:00pm (CT), with visitation two hours prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Knox.
